Miraval - Arizona (June 2018)

Update - Returned to Miraval in May 2021. This resort is now part of Hyatt Hotels.

During this visit, there were still COVID regulations in place. Many of the fitness classes were limited and you had to sign up prior to arrival.

I visited Miraval from Thursday, June 14 through Tuesday, June 19, 2018

I arrived on a flight from Los Angeles around 11:30 am. A Miraval employee was waiting as I entered the baggage claim area. We had to wait for a few people, then we went to the van and headed to the resort. The driver provided all the guests with a small battle of water. We also received a booklet of the activities for the week. Some of which we signed up in advance. Be aware, some of the classes may have changed, so double check your itinerary.

The drive to the resort is about 50 minutes, so it is not anywhere in town.

When we arrived at the resort, we had a small cool refreshing drink waiting for us, as we got off the van. Our luggage went straight to our room.

Check in was smooth and uneventful. Since we arrived at lunch, we opted for lunch then a tour of the facility.

This resort is considered a no phone resort. If you want to talk and text, there was a small area near the dining room. Otherwise you could go to your room.

We had a suite, so our room was a little larger than most. The lowest price room, is like a small hotel room. Not much space.

They have fitness classes every hour from a 6 am hike, to an 8 pm yoga class. Classes are for different levels of fitness. So check to make sure you didn’t sign up for an advanced class, when you wanted an all levels class. Classes included are Indoor cycling, stretch classes, cardio drumming, swimming, yoga and much more.

Most packages include a resort credit, than can be used for classes or spa credit. Be aware, that the credits are for the days you are at the resort. Even if you arrive late or leave early on the first and/or last day. Example, if you have a 5 night package, you will have 5 x $175 = $875 credit. The credit of $175, does not have to be used in one day. It’s really $875 of resort credit, to be used before you leave.

The food is good. You have a sit down option for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast, you can also choice to go to the quick snack area for oatmeal , smoothies and different snacks, including fruit, banana bread, etc. No alcohol is included with the resort price. They also cater to all food allergies you may have, as long as you make them aware.
