We love the theater and try to purchase discounts tickets when available.
Our first stop to look for last minute tickets is TKTS in Time Square.
I found another location where you can enter a lottery on-line for several top shows.

All the broadways shows are listed. Some are available via lottery. Great way to get cheap Broadway tickets.
Check the times to make sure when the lotteries open and close. Many of the tickets have to be purchased within one hour of receiving the winning email. Also, tickets have to be purchased via laptop computer, not a handheld device.
I won 2 tickets for a Saturday matinee of Kinky Boots. Each ticket was $37 plus $5 fee. Tickets were located in a box next to the stage. The seats were excellent for the price.
This past weekend, I won $30 lottery tickets to Phantom of the Opera. The seats were in the first row. Also stopped by Wicked box office, 2 - 21/2 hours prior to show time and entered the lottery and I was picked. Each ticket was $30, you needed ID and cash to pay for the tickets. Great seats in orchestra.
